WILLISTON, N.D. - After the success of last year's conference, Williston State College welcomes back the Women in Leadership (Wil) Expo, September 16 and 17.
"The Wil-Expo was established as my Leadership Williston project last year," Shanna Curlin, TrainND Finance and Operations Manager, explained. "This year's expo improved tremendously.
Our goal is that each woman can take away something that she can apply to her everyday life, both professionally and personally."
The evening of networking, informational booths, and book signings will kick off at 4 p.m. Wednesday evening. The keynote speeches will begin at 7 p.m.
Cristy LeBaron of the John Maxwell Group will lead off with her keynote "Lead From The Inside-Out." Darnyelle A. Jervey of Incredible One Enterprises, LLC will end the evening with the speech entitled "Burn The Box® Eliminate Excuses, Facilitate Change, Overcome Obstacles in Life & Business."
Thursday morning, doors open at 8 a.m. with breakfast and breakout sessions from local female leaders from 9 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Lee Andrews, Laura Erickson, Julie Kline, Kylie Overseen, Jeni Fleck and Jenn Shanahan will lead these sessions. Topics include, leadership, networking and mentorship, government, health and much more.
"The WiL: Expo is the ultimate 'how to' day of guidance for women that are truly wanting to make an impact in the workplace, at home or in the community," Holly Meyers, Conference Service Coordinator, said. "Often, we as women are afraid of success or we are not assertive enough to 'Lean-in'. The speakers are going to inspire us to fearlessly break the barriers and give us the tools to take our careers and passions to the next level."
